Akasakaite-La
[edit]Akasakaite (La) is a mineral that has the formula (CaLa)(AlAlMn2+)O[Si2O7][SiO4](OH)[1], colour dark brown, vitreous, has a specific gravity 4.050[1], crystal system is monoclinic, and lays in the allanite group of Epidote supergroup.The location of this type is at Mogurazawa mine, Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.[1] Named in accordance with the rules of the epidote supergroup. The root name is in honor of Masahide Akasaka (b. 1950), professor at Shimane University, Japan.[1] The density is lightly 4.050 g/cm3[1]. Akasakaite-La is a new mineral discovered in the allanite-group.
Akasakaite-Ce
[edit]Different to Akasakaite-La, this element's formula is (CaCe)(AlAlMn2+)O[Si2O7][SiO4](OH)[2]. It is all the same to Akasakaite-La except of its specific gravity, 4.055[2].
Root
[edit]-akasakaite is a root of minerals that are discovered by Mogurazawa mine. For example, there is vanadoakasakaite-(Ce), vanadoakasakaite-(La), ferriakasakaite-(Ce), ferriakasakaite-(La), manganiakasakaite-(Ce) and manganiakasakaite-(La).
