Early life and education

[edit]

Fenderico was born in Naples, Italy, and is the grandson of musician Totò Savio, founder of the Italian music group Squallor. He began acting in his home city, collaborating with local theatre companies and appearing in productions such as Christmas at the Cupiello’s, Luck with the Capital "L" and Through Scarpetta’s Works. After studying acting in Naples, he moved to Montréal to continue his acting studies at ASM Performing Arts where he met Fred Nguyen Khan, directed by Chip Chuipka, and with a few other workshops directed by Tom Todoroff.

However, when he came back to his hometown in Naples, he decided to keep training abroad so he moved to London in 2015 to continue his training in acting, singing, and dancing so to pursue a career in the film and television industry. He studied principally at London's Actors Workshop directed by Jonathan Sidgwick, at the same time, his teachers were Valerie Colgan, Carl Proctor, John Melainey, Stephen Louis, Daniel Dresner to name a few.

Furthermore, he continues his education with a Ba specializing in playwriting and screenwriting, directing, producing and facilitating at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2022.

Career

[edit]

Fenderico started his on-screen career in short films with leading roles in An Ordinary Day, directed by Luca Visingardi, and Italian Alphabet, directed by Maria Milusha. The projects were selected for national and international festivals, helping to establish his profile in the independent film circuit.

He later founded Make A Wish Film Productions, which evolved into Make A Wish Film & Theatre Productions, focusing on short films, commercials, and theatre initiatives. Through the company, he co-developed and distributed Italian Alphabet, which reached the semifinals at Los Angeles CineFest. As an actor and producer, he worked on the road-safety commercial Drive Responsibly in collaboration with Filma Manent in Naples, which received an award at the festival A Madonna t’accumpagna, who drives is you in 2017.

Fenderico expanded his activities to writing and directing with the short film Hey You!, in which he also co-starred; the film was selected in online festivals and received several awards. His theatre work includes The Small Enchanted Kingdom (2017–2018) at the Chiostro di San Domenico Maggiore in Naples, where he played the roles of the Wolf and Peter Pan, directed by Simone Malucchi.

He has continued to work as an actor, director, screenwriter, and producer in various independent projects. He co-wrote with Carlo Finale the feature film Belong, whose screenplay received award recognition at The Gulf of Naples Independent Film Festival (2022) and at A Royal Chance Film Festival in Los Angeles (2024). He also wrote the television series Legends: Giving it All, which received an award at A Royal Chance Film Festival in Los Angeles (2024).

In 2022, he created the podcast series Invisible Italian Actors & Artists and Invisible International Actors & Artists with Ciro Di Luzio, produced through Make A Wish Film & Theatre Productions, focusing on filmmakers and artists in the independent sector and on issues of acting careers and visibility in the entertainment industry. In 2024, he published his first book, Show, don’t tell: A Step-by-Step Handbook for Aspiring Screenwriters, Producers, Directors. From Greenlit to the Big Screen. In addition to his screen and theatre work, and as a consultant, Fenderico has taken part in talks, workshops, and presentations related to acting, screenwriting, and independent production, often in collaboration with cultural and educational organisations.
