About
[edit]CodeTorch is a Website (also an alternative to the programming language Scratch) that uses Block Coding. [1]
It can be used to create games, animations, art, and more. The site has many popular users, due to their frequent activity. [2]
A CodeTorch project can be made in 5 languages: HTML, CSS, Blocks, Python, and JavaScript.[1]
It also has an AI assistant named Torchy, who is also the mascot of the website.[2]
It's block coding engine relies on TurboWarp, an engine that converts blocks to JavaScript to make the project run faster.[3]
Timeline and History
[edit]CodeTorch started in March, 2025, as a small Scratch alternative. Later it started to gain users, getting more popular every time. In early 2026, CodeTorch released their Python editor, which featured a GUI console and a white box for the Turtle Module. [3]
In late 2026, they released a feature where you can access live editing on HTML/CSS/JavaScript projects. You can invite Collaborators to help work on the project.
System
[edit]Once you make a project, you can mark it 13+ if it is not intended for all ages. [4]If you fail to use proper discretion, then your project may be reported and banned from CodeTorch. If you make a comment or post that is inappropriate, then you will get a Warning. If you get too many warnings, it could result in your account being banned. [5]
