Junior James Joseph (born 1 September 1990), known as Dcrae, is an Australian rapper, singer-songwriter and author from Far North Queensland. He began releasing music in 2019. His work has been covered by publications including the Cairns Post and the Post Courier in Papua New Guinea.

Early life

Dcrae was born in Brisbane and raised in Mt Druitt, Sydney. He left Sydney at the age of 13 and later moved to Cairns, Queensland, where he has lived since.

Career

Dcrae began releasing music in 2019. His single "Stuck" was covered by the Post Courier in 2025.[1]

In late 2019, he signed a distribution deal with Bentley Records in New York City.[2]

Dcrae collaborated with Papua New Guinean musician Tarvin Toune on the single "Shake", which received coverage from NBC-TV and the Post Courier.[3]

In 2024, Dcrae and DJ Hausten released the single "Chase", which received airplay in Cairns, Queensland, and was covered by the Post Courier in Papua New Guinea.[4]

His track "4 Season", featuring Solomon Islands musician Sharzy, was uploaded to triple j Unearthed.[5]

Songs Magazine featured his single "Boom".[6]

The music video for "My Way" was released on YouTube and Vevo.[7]

According to the Cairns Post, Dcrae has collaborated with artists including Sharzy, Idowest, Daryl, Ragga Siai and DJ Hausten.[8]
