  • Comment: This is something of a tough call, as according to WP:NGEO geographical features are not presumed notable, but most geographical features with even a basic level of coverage will pass notability. However, I don't see any in-depth coverage in sources 3 and 4, which are mostly trivial map-like descriptions. As Fernan Lake Village has its own article, I would suggest merging this content in, and then splitting it out if there is enough material for a standalone article. Fernan Lake is a natural freshwater lake located in Kootenai County, Idaho.[1] It is situated to the east of Coeur d'Alene and Fernan Lake Village and north of Lake Coeur d'Alene.

History

[edit]

The lake is named after John Fernan who was one of the first soldiers stationed at Fort Sherman.[2]

Recreation

[edit]

Fernan Lake is a popular spot for fishers for its abundance of Rainbow trout and Bluegill. It is kept stocked by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.[3] In 2011, the Fernan Lake Natural Area was donated to the City of Fernan Lake Village and is currently open to the public for recreational hiking and boating.[4]
