Comment: Both cited sources are primary; one is the database itself, and the other says nothing about this database other than providing a link. We need significant coverage of the topic in secondary sources to establish notability. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 21:51, 27 August 2026 (UTC)

The Global Cyperaceae Database is a global species database dedicated to the Cyperaceae plant family.[1]. It provides a global checklist and taxonomic treatment of the family, integrating information from taxonomic literature and datasets from different regions of the world. The database was established as part of the iSedge initiative and became publicly available in July 2024[2][3]. It is developed within the World Flora Online (WFO) framework and forms part of the WFO Taxonomic Expert Network for Cyperaceae, coordinated by the International Sedge Society[4]. The database incorporates taxonomic concepts, nomenclature, synonymy, distributions and other information at multiple taxonomic levels, and individual taxonomic entries are attributed to their respective editors. The Global Cyperaceae Database is hosted on the Aphia database platform (World Register of Marine Species) developed by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ). Its data are shared with World Flora Online and contribute to the integration of taxonomic information on Cyperaceae in global biodiversity infrastructures[2]
