Gunner Jack Elliott (born 18 July 2008) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Chesterfield.[2] Born in England, he is a Malta youth international.
Club career
[edit]Born in South Yorkshire,[3] Elliott played youth team football for Buxton and Macclesfield before signing for Chesterfield in the summer of 2024.[4] He made his senior debut on 26 December 2024, coming off the bench in a 2-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town.[5] In doing so, Elliott became the club's youngest player since 1936, and their second-youngest of all time.[6][7]
Ahead of the 2025–26 season, Elliott was promoted to the Chesterfield first-team for the club's pre-season games[8] before signing his first professional contract in July 2025, on his 17th birthday.[9]
International career
[edit]Elliott has represented Malta at three youth levels; under-17, under-19 and under-21.[4] In doing so, he became the first Chesterfield player to play against England at youth international level.[10]
In May 2025, Elliott was called up to the senior team for the first time, as part of a provisional 35-man squad for the nation's World Cup qualifying games.[11] However, he was not included in the final squad.
