Jason Williams (born April 12, 1982) is a former American-born Italian footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in the United States and raised in Sorso, Sardinia, Williams developed through the youth system of Sorso AC, where he began playing in 1990.
He spent four seasons with Sorso AC before joining Torres Sassari in 1995. During his four years with Torres, he averaged 12 goals per season as an attacking midfielder and was known for his vision, creativity, and powerful shot. Williams received multiple Player of the Year awards in Sardinian regional leagues and was widely regarded as one of the top young prospects in the region.
International Career
[edit]In 1998, Williams was drafted to the Italy U21 national team. Although highly rated at the time, he never made an official appearance for the squad due to unknown circumstances. His omission from the matchday squads sparked speculation, especially given his recognition as one of Sardegna's top emerging talents.
