Comment: At this stage I don't see any sources with a sufficient level of depth of coverage to satisfy Wikipedia's strict inclusion criteria for corporations. Note that reporting on funding rounds is generally considered trivial or routine coverage. MCE89 (talk) 18:34, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Payrails is a financial technology company based in Berlin that develops payment operations software for enterprises and marketplaces. It was founded in 2021 by Orkhan Abdullayev, Emre Talay and Nicolas Thouzeau.[1][2][3]
History
[edit]The founders previously worked together at the food-delivery company Delivery Hero, where they were involved in building payments and financial infrastructure.[1] Payrails was founded in 2021 to address complexity in processing payments for businesses operating across multiple countries with differing payment methods and regulatory requirements.[1][2]
The company raised funding in multiple rounds between 2022 and 2025.[1][2][3] FAZ reported that co-founder Nicolas Thouzeau left the company in 2023, and that Payrails had processed more than one million transactions per day in 2024 and expanded into 30 new markets across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.[2] Sifted also reported that the company had offices in Berlin, London, Paris, Dublin, Cairo and Dubai, and mentioned customers including Puma and Vinted.[4]
In early 2025, Payrails entered a partnership with Mastercard to provide payment acceptance capabilities for large enterprises, initially focusing on the EEMEA region.[2][5]
Products and services
[edit]TechCrunch described Payrails as a payments “operating system” intended to help enterprises build and operate complex payment flows across multiple providers and markets, and reported that the platform is organised into modules for payments, ledgers and automations.[3]
The platform integrates functions such as payment orchestration, tokenisation, analytics and automated reconciliation. It was reported to offer more than 100 interfaces and integrations, including connections to enterprise software such as SAP, Salesforce and Snowflake, payment service providers such as Stripe and fraud-prevention tools such as Forter.[2][4]
