Comment: Some work is needed on this. The sources here are not strong enough for WP:SIRS where we are looking at reliable sources giving significant and independent coverage. The Travelweekly item is similar to the Acme example just below SIRS. Have a look at the hotel brands that do have articles (e.g. much of the Choice hotel brands) and you will see what they have done to show and source notability.AI is not helpful here, with bold text in all the wrong places. The Excellence Collection is a luxury hospitality brand that owns and operates all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. The company manages properties in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica, operating through three sub-brands: Excellence Resorts, Finest Resorts, and Beloved Hotels.[1]
The company is headquartered in Panama and operates primarily in beach resort destinations across the Caribbean region.[2]
History
[edit]The brand was previously known as Excellence Group Luxury Hotels and Resorts and was officially rebranded as The Excellence Collection in 2019.[3][4][5]
The company opened its first resort, Excellence Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic in 2000.[6] Over the following years, it expanded its portfolio with properties in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.
Between 2004 and 2018, the company opened several additional resorts, including Excellence Riviera Cancun (2004), Excellence Playa Mujeres (2007), Beloved Playa Mujeres (2009), Finest Playa Mujeres (2015), Excellence El Carmen (2016), and Excellence Oyster Bay (2018).[7]
In 2021, Finest Punta Cana opened as the brand’s first all-inclusive resort designed for guests of all ages in the Dominican Republic.[8]
The most recent addition to the portfolio is Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres, which opened on February 12, 2025, in Playa Mujeres, Mexico.
In 2009, Beloved Playa Mujeres initially operated as an all-ages resort. In 2016, it transitioned to an adults-only property and later became a couples-only hotel.[9]
