Tim Simpson is an Australian sports manager and the founder of Chosen Advisory Group.

Early life and education

[edit]

Simpson was born and raised in the Dalkeith neighborhood of Perth, Australia. As a child, Simpson played football and cricket, and had an interest in wrestling and martial arts.[1] He attended Scotch College, going on to study law and sports management at Bond University.[1][2][3] While in university, Simpson participated in the amateur Muay Thai circuit, winning four out of five career matches.[3]

Career

[edit]

After graduating from university, Simpson accepted a role as a lawyer for Rio Tinto in their procurement department, but left after six months to pursue mixed martial arts in 2015.[2][3] He would move from Australia to Los Angeles, working in a call center and as a kickboxing coach.[3] Simpson started his MMA-agency career by cold calling Audie Attar of Paradigm Sports Management, who offered him an internship with the agency.[2] Simpson would move into contract-based work with Paradigm before eventually obtaining a full-time position with them in April 2016.[3] As part of his work with the agency, Simpson played a role in negotiating a fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr.[1] Simpson worked his way to the role of senior vice president with Paradigm Sports Management,[2] but would eventually leave the agency to start his own firm.[4]

In 2023, Simpson founded Chosen Advisory Group, a sports management agency. As part of the agency, Simpson represents UFC fighters like Jack Della Maddalena, Jiri Prochazka, Israel Adesanya, Max Holloway, Leon Edwards, and Casey O'Neill.[4]
