TraceX Guard is a mobile application provided free by TraceX Labs that protects Android devices against malware threats such as viruses, worms, android trojans, spyware, and malicious scripts.^[1][2][3][4] It also features Android Ransomware protection, real-time malware detection, hidden app detection, network monitoring, Wi-Fi security, OTP security.^[5]

TraceX Labs created TraceX Guard in response to the growing number of fake and harmful APK files being shared in India through WhatsApp and Telegram.^[6][7] According to The Times of India, Many of these fake apps looked like official government or service apps such as mParivahan, E-challan, and RTO services. Others appeared as invitation or adult-content apps like Bhabhi Calling or Video Call.^[8][9][6]

These scams often targeted retired army officers, bankers, police officials, students, and the general public.^[10][11] The Hindu reported incidents of significant financial losses after victims installed malicious APK files disguised as official apps.^[10]

The app supports the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. It aims to make India digitally secure by using AI-powered protection to stop mobile threats.^[12]

As reported by Blic Serbian newspaper, the app can block malicious calls, monitor network activity, and alert users to programs attempting to access sensitive data without permission.^[13]
