Vahag Rush (born Vahagn Rushanyan on May 8, 1982) is an Armenian singer-songwriter and guitarist. His musical work incorporates rock elements and is frequently based on classical and modern Armenian poetry, addressing themes such as love, memory, homeland, and personal reflection.
Early life and education
[edit]Rushanyan was born in Artik, Shirak Province, Armenia. He completed his secondary education in Artik in 1999 and later studied Computer Systems and Networks at the State Engineering University of Armenia. From 2003 to 2005, he served in the Armenian Armed Forces in Artsakh.
Musical career
[edit]Rush began his professional music career in 2009. His first official release, Hambuyri My Mej, was based on a poem by Armenian poet Misak Metsarents, with music composed by his father.[1]
Over the course of his career, Rush has released numerous musical works that have been covered by Armenian media, including singles such as “Կյանք”, “Ես կգամ”, and “Իմ թափառական”.[2][3]
According to published media coverage, Rush is the author of more than seventy musical works, many of which draw inspiration from classical and modern Armenian poetry, including texts by Yeghishe Charents, Paruyr Sevak, and Misak Metsarents.[4]
He has appeared in live concerts in Armenia and has also participated in collaborative and charity performances documented by independent cultural platforms.[5][6]
