| Article | |
| Portion used |
Whole frame to fit both vehicles. A snapshot of a 25-minute television episode |
| Low resolution? |
Yes, so as not to violate copyright |
| Purpose of use |
To illustrate some of the design and model work for Joe 90, providing a means of visual identification with these elements in a relevant section of the main article. The Jet-Air Car in particular has commentary treatment in the article text, and the image in general helps to convey the visual aesthetic of Joe 90 |
| Replaceable? |
The whole series is copyrighted. No obvious free alternatives are available due to the age of the series (now over 40 years old). Few models and sets from the original filming remain in a condition suitable for a free image to be taken which would not misrepresent the series and its elements (some may no longer exist at all, or only in a very worn state). An image of modern toy versions (some of which are commercially available) could not be said to represent this design work with complete accuracy compared to an image depicting the original models used in the 1960s, which is essential if commentary on one or other vehicle in the article text is to be provided with proper visual identification. Therefore, this upload qualifies as reasonable fair use of copyrighted material |
