Original drawing is an artist's impression of an architect's plan, transplanted onto a signboard, photographed at a distance to put the sign in context of the rest of the sign and its location on reserve. |
| Purpose of use |
The sign indicates, as per the article, what has happened to the existing building, and the fact that the reserve has been set aside by council. It also enables a public record of what an early version of the new building was to have looked like, and supports commentary on documented reactions to that design. All of which contributes to a historical understanding of the controversy over the resource consent issue. Finally, its important for later comparison with whatever does get built. |
