Lieutenant General Syed Imdad Hussain Shah, HI(M) is a three-star general in the Pakistan Army, currently serving as the Corps Commander Gujranwala. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General in November 2023 and assumed command of the XXX Corps, succeeding Lt Gen Muhammad Aamer.[1]
Military career
[edit]Shah was commissioned in the Pakistan Army through the 83rd PMA Long Course and joined the 33 Azad Kashmir Regiment. Over the years, he has held various command and staff appointments in the army.[2]
In 2019, he was promoted to the rank of Major general.[3][4] As a Major general General officer commanding, 14th Infantry Division at Okara.[5] Later, he served as Director General H Directorate of Inter-Services Intelligence. Upon his elevation to the rank of Lieutenant generalImdad assumed the office of Commander, XXX Corps.
He participated as a guest speaker at the National Defence University in 2024 during the National Security Workshop.
