Mason Shipley is an American football kicker for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas Longhorns, Texas State Bobcats, and for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Early life and high school
[edit]Shipley attended Liberty Hill High School located in Williamson County, Texas. Coming out of high school, he committed to play college football for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, joining the team as a walk-on.[1]
College career

[edit]During the 2020, season Shipley did not appear in any games, where after the conclusion of the season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal.[2]
Texas State
[edit]Shipley transferred to play for the Texas State Bobcats. During his four-year career as a Bobcat from 2021 through 2024, he went 31 for 35 on his field goal attempts, while hitting a career-long 60-yard field goal. After the conclusion of the 2024 season, he once again entered the NCAA transfer portal.[3][4]
Texas
[edit]Shipley transferred to play for the Texas Longhorns.[5] Entering the 2025 season, he won the Longhorns starting kicker and kickoff specialist job.[6] In week seven of the 2025 season, Shipley hit the game-winning 45-yard field goal in an overtime victory versus Kentucky.[7] During his lone season as a Longhorn in 2025, he converted on 20 of his 24 field goals, while making all 48 of his extra point attempts. After the conclusion of the season, Shipley declared for the 2026 NFL draft.[8]
Professional career
[edit]After not being selected in the 2026 NFL draft, Shipley signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent.[9]
