Nuagada is a village and Community Development Block in the Gajapati District of Odisha state in India. The Block comes under the administrative control of Serango and R.Udayagiri Police station.
Mohana (Odisha Vidhan Sabha constituency) (Sl. No.: 136) is its Vidhan Sabha constituency.[1] This constituency includes Mohana block, R.Udayagiri block, Nuagada block and Rayagada block.[2][3]
Overview
[edit]Nuagada Tehsil commenced functioning on 1st April 2011, following its bifurcation from the erstwhile R. Udayagiri Tehsil. The headquarters of the Tehsil is located at Nuagada village.
The Tehsil comprises 7 Revenue Inspector (RI) circles, 19 Gram Panchayats, and 175 villages, covering a total geographical area of 463.89 square kilometers. It is bounded by R. Udayagiri, Rayagada, and Mohana Tehsils, as well as Rayagada district. Approximately 70% of the total land area consists of hilly and highland terrain.
As per the 2011 Census, the total population of Nuagada Tehsil was 54,696, of which 26,684 were males and 28,012 were females. The population included 228 Scheduled Caste (SC) members and 42,145 Scheduled Tribe (ST) members. The Tehsil comprises 174 revenue villages in total.

Education
[edit]•Nuagada hosts a total of 93 Elementary Schools, 13 High Schools, and one Higher Secondary School in Khajuripada. In addition, the area also has a De Paul School, Khajuripada, which functions as a branch of De Paul School, Brahmapur.

[edit]The block has a total of 17 Government Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and 3 Government Hospitals, providing healthcare services to the local population.
