Nutrabolt (legally Woodbolt Distribution, LLC, d/b/a Nutrabolt) is an American active health and wellness company best known as the owner of the C4 Energy beverage range and the Cellucor and XTEND sports nutrition brands.[5][4] The company is headquartered in the Austin, Texas area.[2]
History
[edit]Nutrabolt traces its origins to 2002, when it launched the Cellucor line of sports nutrition products.[1] In April 2017, the company acquired North Carolina–based Scivation, adding the XTEND branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) brand to its portfolio.[6][7]
In December 2022, Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) and Nutrabolt announced a strategic partnership under which KDP would sell and distribute C4 Energy across most of its company-owned direct-store-delivery territories and make an equity investment in Nutrabolt.[8] Coverage in the business press reported that KDP invested about US$863 million for approximately a 30% stake.[9][10]
In January 2024, Nutrabolt led a minority financing round in Bloom Nutrition, taking an ownership stake of about 20% and becoming Bloom's largest investor.[11][12][13]
Brands and products
[edit]Nutrabolt's portfolio includes C4 Energy ready-to-drink beverages, Cellucor pre-workout and sports nutrition products, and XTEND's BCAA products.[4] Selected C4 products and Cellucor formulas appear in the NSF Certified for Sport directory under Woodbolt Distribution LLC dba Nutrabolt.[14][15]
Operations
[edit]The company is based in the Austin, Texas area. In December 2022 it announced ground-breaking for a new headquarters facility located at 332 Grace Lane, in the Bee Cave area west of Austin, with approximately 75,000 sq ft of space.[16][2] Nutrabolt's ESG reporting describes the company as a “global active health and wellness” business with operations focused on people, consumers, community and environmental initiatives.[17]
Partnerships
[edit]Beyond distribution relationships for C4 Energy through Keurig Dr Pepper, Nutrabolt and its brands have engaged in marketing partnerships, including multi-year sports partnerships under the C4 brand.[8]
