Off-Broadway is a 1982 American play by Norman Krasna.[1]

The show's 1982 production by The Whole Theater Company in Montclair, New Jersey was directed by Jose Ferrer.[2] Ferrer got the job after playing a game of golf with Krasna and discussing Krasna's new play.[3]

Krasna said "the characters might be two young people but the problem, I hope, is universal."[4]

Reception

[edit]

"It tries," said The New York Times.[5]

The Daily Record felt the play "never quite decides what it wants to be... It is in the end a play of one liners - some of which are truly funny, but few of which justify the amount of time they take to unfold."[6] The Montclair Times wrote "it's all been done before."[7]
