The Pakistan Republic Party (PRP; Urdu: پاکستان ریپبلک پارٹی‎) is a political party in Pakistan founded by journalist and broadcaster Reham Khan on 15 July 2025.[1][2] The party was launched at the Karachi Press Club, with Khan pledging to end dynastic politics and promote merit-based governance.[3]

History

Reham Khan, known for her career in journalism, Fawad Chaudhry known for his career in former Minister of Information formally entered Pakistani politics through the launch of PRP.[1]

The announcement came after months of speculation, and Khan framed the party as a platform to "return politics to public service".[4]

Ideology and platform

PRP’s stated objectives include:

  • Holding politicians accountable and ending dynastic politics.[3]
  • Ensuring merit-based representation of marginalized regions and communities.[1]
  • Enacting legal and electoral reforms, such as joined the politicians from contesting multiple seat the elections.[4]
  • Implementing public welfare programs on organization, women, farmers, clean drinking water, clean road, and healthcare.[3]
