Palm pedal

Nguồn dữ liệu từ Wikipedia, hiển thị bởi DefZone.Net

A palm pedal is a mechanical device that consists of levers attached to the strings of a guitar or other stringed instrument for the purpose of pulling the strings up in pitch to a preset half-step or whole-step.

Boomer Castleman, an American guitarist and singer-songwriter, invented it, creating the prototype in 1968.[1] Bigsby manufactured the palm pedal in the early 1970s. From 2009 to 2016, Nashville-based Pro Palm Pedals also produced them until the company closed when owner Kenny Clark prioritized his music career.

While working in a Portsmouth, Ohio studio, I saw Dean Porter, the palm pedal's inventor, use a homemade version made from a teaspoon. Later, I collaborated with Porter on a local West Virginia TV country show hosted by Dean Stern, recording a recitation there.
