Reginald Virgil (born May 14, 2004)[1] is an American college football wide receiver for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He previously played for the Miami RedHawks.

Early life and high school

Virgil attended high school at Mount Dora Christian Academy located in Mount Dora, Florida. Coming out of high school, he committed to play college football for the Miami RedHawks.[2]

College career

During his first collegiate season in 2022, he hauled in just one pass for 28 yards.[3] In the 2023 season, Virgil played in 12 games, recording one reception for 34 yards and a touchdown.[4] In week seven of the 2024 season, he hauled in three passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns, in a victory over Eastern Michigan.[5] During the 2024 season, Virgil hauled in 41 passes for 816 yards and nine touchdowns.[6] For his performance during the 2024 season, he was named second team all-MAC.[7] After the conclusion of the 2024 season, Virgil decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[8]

Texas Tech

Virgil transferred to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.[9] In week one of the 2025 season, he scored the team's first touchdown of the season on a nine-yard reception.[10] In week twelve of the 2025 season, he notched 107 total yards and three touchdowns on seven touches in a win over UCF.[11]
