Smilis (Ancient Greek: Σμῖλις), was a legendary ancient Greek sculptor, the contemporary of Daedalus, whose name^[1] was associated with the archaic cult figure [fr] at the Heraion of Samos.^[2] Smilis was born on the island of Aegina^[3] and his father was named Euclides.^[4] He was the legendary head of the Aeginetan School of sculpture.^[4]
