[edit]The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
Majoritively overlapping materials. WP:CRYSTAL to assume on further edition at this point of time, a split could be considered in 2026. — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 13:35, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- I would merge it the other way around. That the information given in 1st D Awards to be merged with the main article about D Awards. --Goroth (talk) 17:48, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- That will also work. — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 00:31, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- I support merging 1st D Awards into D Awards. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 12:46, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support merging but the other way around. CherryPie94 🍒🥧 (talk) 05:55, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
Paper9oll, is this something you're still interested in? There's consensus to merge now, though we're also coming into 2026. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 21:47, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Thebiguglyalien I wouldn't mind. Just noticed that there is strong consensus that calls for 1st D Awards to D Awards. — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 22:14, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
Rookie awards
[edit]According to this source by Sports Donga Rookie Awards is a grand prize (daesang) here
translation: D Awards 'Black Label' are given to only 8 categories, including the 7 Titles of the Year that correspond to the grand prize, and the 'D Awards Iconic' that is awarded to groups or members that have made meaningful achievements in the growth and revival of K-pop. The 7 grand prizes, 'Title of the Year', consist of Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Performance of the Year, Trend of the Year, and Rookie of the Year.
Please check the source. Rookie Awards may not be a daesang at other award ceremonies but the source said it is a daesang.— Shenaall (t ♣ c) 15:01, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- Ping @Dhelishere
—Shenaall(t♣c) 15:02, 22 February 2025 (UTC)- It's still not yet announced on the broadcast, we should wait untill the end. Also in the news, it's only mentioned four daesangs, Song; Album; Record; and Performance (or Stage). We can decide it later after the broadcast ends in my opinion. Thank you. Dhelishere (talk) 15:10, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- Which news is it that only mentioned four daesang? Can you please share the link? Also, isn't the Rookie of the Year were already announced minutes ago?
- To clarify, I forgot to mention that Rookie of the Year (Black trophy) and Rookie Awards a.k.a Dreamers award (Silver trophy) were each different category. The Rookie of the Year is a daesang but the Rookie Awards isn't, according to the source I mentioned before.
—Shenaall(t♣c) 15:20, 22 February 2025 (UTC)- Sorry for the late reply! You can check my new response for my old source.
- As far as I remember, Rookie of the Year hasn’t been announced yet. I keep refreshing Twitter, and so far, the only sources are unverified K-pop update accounts. Dhelishere (talk) 15:24, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

- It also seems like an additional detail from my original source, Newsen, which I believe is outdated, whereas yours is more up-to-date.
- Also, in all award shows, Rookie of the Year has never been part of the Daesang. That’s why I’m unsure whether we should include it in the Grand Prize list or not.
- My original source from Newsen

- The title of "Years," which shined K-pop in 2024, will be divided into Artist of the Year, Album, Song, Performance, and Globalist. In addition, "The Awards" will select "The Awards Iconic," which will meaningfully illuminate and support the members who have become the basis of global K-pop, including artists, producers, and planning staff covering the past, present, and future of K-pop.

- Noted. Let's wait until the broadcast ended first
—Shenaall(t♣c) 15:48, 22 February 2025 (UTC)- So, they just announced the "Black Label Awards," but neither the presenter nor the on-screen text mentioned it as a Daesang. Do you think we should classify the seven Black Label Awards as a Grand Prize or rename them as Main Prize? Dhelishere (talk) 16:24, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Dhelishere Right now is good enough for me. Other option: rename the heading as "Black Label" or "Blue Label" or "Silver Label" according to the trophy color but separate popularity awards because popularity awards had a different judging criteria
