Actually born at the end of 1795?

The French wiki article gives his birth date as 31 December 1795 which would be 11 days before the date given in the English article (11 January 1796); this seems correct taking into account the Gregorian/Julian calendar difference, since Russia hadn't yet instituted the change. I see the birth category in the English article is 1795; should the birth date in the lede be changed?--FeanorStar7 10:28, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

1882 portrait not Alexander Stroganov

The portrait at the bottom of the article was indeed painted by Ivan Kramskoi in 1882, but it does NOT depict Alexander Stroganov. It's a painting of Admiral Login Loginovich Heyden. A quick Google image search for "Login Loginovich Heyden" will confirm this, as well as a Google Reverse image search of the painting, and this link:

I would change it myself, but I'm not a big Wikipedia editor and I'm unfamiliar with the editing and formatting around images. So I hope someone will take this off the page, as it is not an image of Alexander Stroganov. EtherRogue (talk) 01:49, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
