Hickey

The section on Marilyn Hickey describes her as a theologian. Hickey holds a BA in Languages and an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity, neither of which qualify her as a theologian. She is a popular Word of Faith televangelist. Bad hyperlink

End of paragraph 1 correctly assigns verse as Exodus 20:5, but the hyperlink takes the User to Exodus 19:5. I don't know how to fix this. AWCzarnik (talk) 16:11, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ezekiel 18:20

I may have overlooked it, but I don't see any reference in the present article to Ezekiel 18:20, which on the face of it rejects the idea that God will punish individuals for the sins of their ancestors, and explicitly challenges previous Biblical statements to the contrary. This interpretation of Ezekiel appears to be disputed, with some theologians arguing that 18:20 merely says that individuals will be forgiven for the sins of their ancestors if they repent of them, which in itself leaves the idea of inherited guilt untouched or even strengthened, since repentance implies responsibility. I don't have a view on this, but I suggest it should be covered in the article. References to Ezekiel 18:20 come up prominently if one searches online for terms such as 'Bible ancestral sin'.2A00:23C8:7907:4B01:69F1:960E:7E26:E458 (talk) 21:46, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
