The Boston Tea Part was not part of the American Revolution. Delete the ending of the first sentence!

The American Revolution began over a year later, with the Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. 2601:6C5:300:6300:F997:9D58:2311:41E1 (talk) 04:15, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

American Antiquarian Society Tea - possible minor correction

[edit]

The AAS catalog describes the bottle "Tea salvaged from Boston Harbor after the Boston Tea Party, 1773" and the photo looks to be tea leaves rather than infused water. The owners of the tea should have more background and context

[edit]

In the "Destruction of the tea" section, the following text is present:

"The owner of two of the three ships was William Rotch, a Nantucket-born colonist and merchant."

William Rotch was a wealthy monopolist, the equivalent of Rockefeller of the whale oil industry. Many people in the colonies had a low opinion of him due to his business practices. John Hancock was his competitor. This should be included as an obvious source of motivation for the action. Gaskew7 (talk) 08:51, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Today marks the 252nd anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.

Not done: Wikipedia articles do not note anniversaries in this fashion, because they are permanent. But see Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries. Day Creature (talk) 15:45, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
