GA review

[edit]

Yall should make a new section for celeste — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2025-42723-38 (talk) 20:40, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Bgsu88: You closed the GA review as unsuccessful, but didn't give a reason. May I ask why you did that, given that the reviewer hadn't identified any issues (and it really isn't on for a GA review to be closed due to reviewer inactivity)?--Launchballer 05:22, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I was going to bring this up too. It's unfair for a review to be closed purely based on reviewer inactivity, just relist the review as being open for someone else to take on, noting the reviewer became inactive. jolielover♥talk 05:25, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, it is @Bgsu98: who closed this, not Bgsu88. jolielover♥talk 05:25, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I realised, I tried to fix it but got edit conflicted.--Launchballer 05:26, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Part of the review process is that an article is stable and the subject is invovled in a major investigation. The entire article is likely to change drastically over the course of the investigation and there will likely be conflict about exact wording and other issues. The GA should be postponed until the investigation is complete. Harizotoh9 (talk) 06:09, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that should be emphasised in the review then, it was closed without explanation. jolielover♥talk 06:42, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The GA review should have never started to begin with, and it's pretty obvious why. Each new report on the investigation brings changes and re-writes and possible conflicts over the content. The entire investigation section will be re-written and greatly expanded once more details are confirmed. Stability is impossible in this situation. Harizotoh9 (talk) 12:52, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
None of which affects stability for GA purposes; the criteria specifies that "stability is based on the article's current state, not any potential for instability in the future." I also suggest that this should continue at WT:GAN#Talk:D4vd/GA1.--Launchballer 13:04, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is unstable now, plus it was abandoned by the reviewer. I apologize for not leaving an explanation, but the automated closer did not provide me with that option and I neglected to go back and enter one manually. Bgsu98 (Talk) 13:09, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The article goes through periods of inactivity but now is not one as there's updates almost every day now. I myself have made expansions and re-writes. More information will inevitably come out leading to the entire investigation section being heavily re-written. It should have never been sent to GA review given the circumstances. Celeste Rivas Hernandez or Rivas-Hernandez?

[edit]

Some sources spell Celeste's surname with a hyphen. Should we use the hyphenated version? HiGuys (talk) 18:22, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@HiGuys:
Her full birth name was Celeste Abigail Rivas Hernández (Rivas Hernández, Celeste Abigail).
Celeste was her first name, Abigail was her middle name, Rivas was her first or paternal surname/family name, and Hernández was her second or maternal surname/family name (read Spanish naming customs).
The ideal would be to call her Celeste Rivas, or just Rivas, because Rivas Hernández isn't a single surname; it's two.
Most Americans aren't familiar with Spanish naming customs, so some call her Celeste Rivas-Hernandez (thinking it's one last name) or Celeste Hernandez (thinking Rivas is her middle name). ItsMario97 (talk) 21:10, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok so would we just use Rivas for referring her? The article uses Rivas Hernandez. HiGuys (talk) 22:02, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@HiGuys:
The article has always used Rivas, but this week a user changed it to Rivas Hernandez for some reason.
Anyway, it's not wrong to refer to her as Rivas Hernandez; it just sounds kinda weird in Spanish, since we normally use only the first/paternal surname to refer to someone. ItsMario97 (talk) 00:38, 7 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I’ll change it back to Rivas soon HiGuys (talk) 00:45, 7 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lowercase title

[edit]

Shouldn't this be a lowercase title? Per WP:AT (use the name most commonly used by reliable sources) and MOS:CAPS (respect established stylization), David's professional name is stylized as “d4vd” in all lowercase. The article lead explicitly notes this stylization, and sources cited in the article (e.g., Billboard, DIY) use the lowercase form. ConeKota (talk) 23:25, 11 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Plus, his discography page uses the lowercase title template already. ConeKota (talk) 23:28, 11 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
