Paul Le Roux

[edit]

There is an article about Paul Le Roux which tells a slightly different version of the SecurStar story. Could be helpful for references. https://mastermind.atavist.com/he-always-had-a-dark-side Fourthark (talk) 21:45, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contradictions in Wilfried Hafner's story regarding E4M's source being completely stolen

[edit]

The SecurStar About us page (https://www.securstar.com/en/about-us.html) states that the company was founded in 2001 after a merger between ScramDisk Inc., Software Professionals Ltd. (Paul Le Roux's software contracting business), and Telstar Industries. This would mean that SecurStar was founded a full 4 years after the initial release of E4M on the Usenet via e4m.net and hence it would be impossible for "all versions of E4M always belonged only to SecurStar" as Wilfried Hafner claims. Is it worth noting this inconsistency in his claims with the publicly available timeline of events? Or is it possible that Paul merged proprietary code from DriveCrypt into E4M and that is instead what Wilfried is alleging and the article is misquoting him? 1.145.71.45 (talk) 06:29, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
