Edit request from article subject (COI disclosure) — April 2026
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. Set |answered=no to reactivate the request if necessary. |
Conflict of interest disclosure: I am Iftekhar Rafsan, the subject of this article. Per WP:COI, I am not editing the article directly and am requesting uninvolved editors review and implement the following changes, using only the independent sources cited.
1. Expand the lead
[edit]Replace: "is a Bangladeshi YouTube personality, model and actor ... He is known for food vlogging on YouTube." With: "is a Bangladeshi YouTube personality, actor and model, best known for food vlogging. He has also acted in Bangladeshi television drama and has a background in competitive esports."
2. Add a new subsection under "Career" titled "Television and commercials"
[edit]In 2021, Rafsan made his television acting debut in the Eid-ul-Adha drama The Teacher, directed by Mabrur Rashid Bannah and produced by Underground Creative Factory, which aired on NTV. He played a student opposite Abdun Noor Shajal.[1][2] In interviews he has said he has also appeared in numerous television commercials.
3. Add a new subsection "Esports"
[edit]Rafsan is a competitive gamer known online as "Outlaw". The Business Standard has described him as a "professional e-sports athlete",[3] and the Dhaka Tribune has reported that he has participated in online tournaments since 2011 and has competed in tournaments outside Bangladesh.[4] He was a member of Bangladeshi esports organization Exceeli Esports' VALORANT roster in 2022.
4. Expand the YouTube APAC mention into the Career section
[edit]In February 2024, Rafsan was invited to YouTube's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore, reported as the first Bangladeshi content creator to receive such an invitation. During the visit he carried a Bangladeshi flag handcrafted from jamdani fabric.[5][6] YouTube has also featured him on its official Instagram account as a creator representing Bangladesh.[6]
5. Add to "Collaborative vlogging"
[edit]In 2022, Rafsan hosted Emirati content creator Khalid Al-Ameri during the latter's visit to Bangladesh, including an iftar at Rafsan's home.[7] He has also collaborated with Sonny Side of the YouTube channel Best Ever Food Review Show.
6. Add a sentence on recognition in "Career"
[edit]Rafsan received the Best Content Creator award in the food and recipe category at the second edition of the Blender's Choice–The Daily Star OTT and Digital Content Awards.[6]

Conflict of interest disclosure: I am Iftekhar Rafsan, the subject of this article (connection declared at the top of this page). Per WP:COI, I am not editing the article directly and am asking an uninvolved editor to review the changes below. The items are independent of each other, so please implement only the ones you consider adequately sourced.
1. Recognition: correct and expand the award sentence
[edit]Current text: In February 2024, he received the "Best Content Creator award" in the food and recipe category at the second edition of the Blender's Choice–The Daily Star OTT and Digital Content Awards.
Problem: February 2024 is the publication date of the cited Dhaka Tribune article, not the date of the award. The second edition was the 2022 awards, and I also won the same category at the 2021 awards.
Proposed text: Rafsan won Best Content Creator (Food & Recipe) at the Blender's Choice–The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards for both the 2021 and 2022 editions.[1][2][3][4]
2. Recognition: YouTube Asia-Pacific headquarters
[edit]Proposed addition: In February 2024, Rafsan visited YouTube's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore; The Daily Star and the Dhaka Tribune reported that he was the first Bangladeshi content creator to be invited there.[5][4]
Note: Both articles are already cited in the article, but this fact is not stated in the body. I raised it in my April request; the wording here attributes the "first" claim to the two newspapers.
3. Career: guest appearance in Bachelor Point
[edit]Proposed addition (after the paragraph about The Teacher): In August 2026, he made a guest appearance in the fifth season of the comedy-drama series Bachelor Point, in the season's fourteenth chapter, which was released on the streaming platform Bongo on 20 August 2026.[6][7][8]
4. Career: new subsection "Advertising and modelling"
[edit]Current text (in Career): Prior to his acting work, he appeared in television and online commercials, stating in interviews that he participated in approximately 30 to 40 such productions.
Proposed: move that sentence into a new subsection, "Advertising and modelling", and expand it as follows.
In addition to his work as a content creator, Rafsan has worked as a commercial actor and model. In a July 2021 interview with The Business Standard, he said he had appeared in 30 to 40 television and online video commercials.[9] His advertising work has included campaigns for Grameenphone,[10][11] Airtel Bangladesh,[12] Samsung Bangladesh,[13] Potata,[14] PRAN UP[15] and Nescafé.[16]
Note on sources: Grameenphone is supported by a Dhaka Tribune review of the advertisement and by the campaign credits on Ads of the World, which list me in the cast and give the advertiser as Grameenphone's parent company, Telenor. Airtel is supported by a Markedium article that names me. Samsung, Potata and PRAN UP are cited to the brands' own uploads of the advertisements (the Potata upload names me in its title). Nescafé is cited to a post on my own Facebook page. Please keep only the brands you consider adequately sourced.
5. New short section: tree-planting pledge
[edit]Proposed text: On 21 April 2024, during a severe heatwave in Bangladesh, Rafsan announced a plan to plant one million trees. He told Arab News that the plan was prompted by Dhaka's extreme heat and air pollution, and that it would include year-round monitoring and care of the trees, coordinated with city officials.[17]

6. Addendum: fuller "Awards and recognition" section
[edit]Two recognitions were missing from items 1 and 2 above, so here is a consolidated version of the section. It supersedes the proposed text in items 1 and 2: the facts and sources are the same, with two further items, the names of the winning videos and the jamdani detail added. I also suggest renaming the section "Awards and recognition".
Proposed section text:
In December 2021, Rafsan won the Best Food Blogger category at the Marvel of Tomorrow Influencers Summit and Award.[1]
He subsequently won Best Content Creator (Food & Recipe) at both the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Blender's Choice–The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards. The 2021 award recognised his video "So I Got Challenged to a Cooking Competition", and the 2022 award recognised "Worlds Most Expensive Steak In Malaysia".[2][3][4][5]
In November 2023, he received a special recognition at Marvel of Tomorrow Season 3 for representing Bangladesh globally through his work; it was presented by Johnny Johansson, then Meta's head of Central Asia, Bangladesh and Nepal.[6]
In February 2024, The Daily Star and the Dhaka Tribune reported that Rafsan had become the first Bangladeshi content creator to be invited to YouTube's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore. During the visit, he displayed a Bangladeshi flag made from jamdani fabric.[7][5]
Note on sources: The December 2021 award is reported in a staff-written feature in The Business Standard. The November 2023 recognition is sourced to a press release carried by The Daily Star, so please treat it as a primary source.
