"change the president from joe biden to donald trump because of the election" 174.171.74.77 (talk) 02:28, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The update will be made after the inauguration; for the moment, the present value remains correct. Nikkimaria (talk) 02:29, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Newly added reference

[edit]

I have recently added a reference for a claim in the history section and sub section U.S. era reference number 64. I am new, so i may have made a mistake. Please let me know if i did. Planelover26 (talk) 03:16, 16 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Planelover26, thanks for helping to source the article! It's a helpful addition. To better refine, it would be best placed after "which made Puerto Ricans U.S. citizens,", as the source you added covers that part of the text, but not the constitution part. Best, CMD (talk) 03:26, 16 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Chipmunkdavis Thank you for the advice, i have moved the placement of the reference. I can't find anything related to the constitution, so i will leave it un referenced for now. Please let me know if i made any more mistakes. Planelover26 (talk) 03:56, 16 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There is errors in this sentence:

"The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico has an area of 5,320 square miles (13,800 km2), of which 3,420 sq mi (8,900 km2) is land and 1,900 sq mi (4,900 km2) is water.[82] "

It should be (source the same [82]) :

"The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico has an area of 3515 square miles (9104 km2), of which 3459 sq mi (8959 km2) is land and 56 sq mi (145 km2) is water.[82]" Audraudra (talk) 22:37, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Calling Code

[edit]

The calling code is just +1. The 787 is an area code. The articles for the US and Canada don't say "calling code: +1" and proceed to list every single area code in the country. We shouldn't treat this country any differently just because they only have one area code, or a number that's small enough to list all of. And in this case Puerto Rico is part of the United States. We don't do this for every state. 2601:249:1A80:22E0:95A5:38B9:1DB7:FCD1 (talk) 20:19, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Jones (Merchant Marine) versus Jones-Shafroth Acts

[edit]

I think we need to differentiate between these two. They are easy to get confused as it is common to just refer to them both as the Jones Act. They are different with very different, though related effects. The Jones referred in each act to are different people. 128.174.141.172 (talk) 17:09, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Change amerindian peoples to indigenous peoples 2steames (talk) 16:31, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The current term is not inaccurate or otherwise offensive. It is to distinguish from other indigenous people, like African indigenous people. jolielover♥talk 16:39, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Port is not "porto" in French

[edit]

The phrase 'The anglicized name was used by the U.S. government and private enterprises (also Porto in Italian, French, and Portuguese).' has a serious problem. In French, the word for 'port' is not 'porto', as it is in Italian and Portuguese.

The word for 'port' in French is simply 'port. 2804:1B1:F802:36FB:7A9E:B003:2279:C9A2 (talk) 15:51, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the entire parenthetical remark, which was unnecessary anyway. In the future, please consider being bold and making such edits yourself. :) Mgnbar (talk) 16:10, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The sections on Puerto Rican Art and Literature are too scant. We have so many excellent artists and writers, poets, they should be mentioned here. The artists from the beginning of the 20th Century were ignored. These artists have received recognition from Latin America as well as Spain and other international entities.

The section on Education has outdated names for the Ana G Mendez University System, which changed the names of its campuses several years ago. The excellent outcomes of the UPR System, especially the Rio Piedras, Mayaguez and Medical Sciences Campuses should be mentioned as well. The entire section can be much improved, since the Interamerican University Campuses, Polytechnic University are excellent universities with great outcomes. I am sure that if you request that information from these institutions they would cooperate with you. ~2025-31970-89 (talk) 18:41, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Day Creature (talk) 18:58, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
