[edit]It would be good to cover the production process, regional variance, and the "fake plum wine" that are also sold in other countries. --Improv 05:48, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- "Fake plum wine"? Do you mean the white grape wines with ume aroma? 188.192.113.235 (talk) 11:59, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Japanese and Korean
[edit]Is there a significant difference between Japanese and Korean plum wines? If not, I propose:
- The article be amended to deal with both; and
- The article be moved to "plum wine" per common names policy and naming conflict (between the Japanese and Korean names).
Despite what this article labels as "mistranslation", it is a fact that "ume" is commonly called "plum". --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 05:57, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's not wine (look at the recipe) and it's not plums. Just because a mistake is common doesn't make it right. --91.15.75.59 (talk) 22:02, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Confusing times
[edit]The recipe section says it can be consumed after 3 months but better to wait 6 months, and immediately after says it should ripen for at least 9 months.
These aren't Necessarily in conflict, but could probably use clarification. Is ripening for 9 months in addition to the 3-6 month recommendation? Is 9 months a recommendation for "best results"?
