There is lots of unneeded or confusing punctuation that affect the clarity of the section. Perhaps something on the physical mechanism of weight loss?

Shouldn't this article be split into two? One for "intentional" and one for "unintentional"?

• The two subjects have nothing to do with each other.
• No reader will be interested in both at the same time.
• The "Myths" and "Health Effects" top-level headings do not apply to "unintentional".
