Lead: Xilinx as a company and brand still exists under AMD

Wouldn't it be more accurate for the lead to say that Xilinx is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMD rather than that it 'was' a company? The SEC filings cited in the article and various releases from AMD indicate that Xilinx will continue to survive as a wholly owned company, having its own tax filings and product lines etc. post-merger. As far as I can tell, the brand also hasn't been retired by AMD and for the time being, at least some products are still retaining the branding. Questionable statement in intro

It also pioneered the first fabless manufacturing model.

Xilinx open its doors in 1984.  In 1978, the Western Design Center had set up shop as a fabless operation.  Based on that, Xilinx would not have pioneered the fabless model.
