Date format

[edit]

Please use (Month DD, YYYY) for dates in citations and (Mon. DD, YYYY) for infobox dates.

  • For "retrieved" dates, use the numeric YYYY-MM-DD, established in November 2013 with this version.
  • For "retrieved" dates, though, by the version in Aug 2015, the numeric had been replaced by a non-numeric version.
  • For "publication" dates, the first instance used the numeric YYYY-MM-DD format in this November 2013 version; however, all numeric dates are generally to be avoided (I personally make an exception for the "retrieved" dates).
  • For "publication" dates, the first non-numeric form used was Month DD, YYYY, in this November 2014 version.
  • For "financials" dates (in infobox), the format used initially was Mmm. DD, YYYY, in this November 2013 version.

Redundancy in History section

[edit]

The last paragraph of "History" above "Wind down" conveys largely the same information as the last paragraph of "Wind down". These two paragraphs should be consolidated in the "Wind down" subsection. Normally, I'd do this myself, but the earlier paragraph mentions my employer, so I'm not going to make edits out of COI concerns. White 720 (talk) 20:58, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Acquired by Beyond

[edit]

Beyond has reportedly bought Zulily's brand and plans to relaunch the retailer on Thursday morning PST — https://www.geekwire.com/2024/zulily-set-to-relaunch-under-new-owner-beyond-now-led-by-marcus-lemonis-of-the-profit-fame/ White 720 (talk) 04:42, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed update: 2025 sale of 75% stake in Zulily to Lyons Trading

[edit]

I work for Zulily. I am suggesting this change for accuracy and completeness of the ownership history.

Hi editors — I have a connection to Zulily (COI disclosure). I’m proposing a neutral, sourced update to the article’s History/Ownership section to cover the 2025 majority-stake sale by Beyond, Inc.

    • Proposed addition (History/Ownership):**

In March 2025, Beyond, Inc. announced it would sell a 75% stake in the Zulily brand to Lyons Trading Company, the operator of Proozy.com, valuing the brand at approximately $6.7 million; Beyond retained a 25 percent interest.[1][2]

Notes:

  • The Beyond, Inc. press release provides the official transaction details (primary source), including that the buyer is Lyons Trading Company (Proozy’s parent) and an implied valuation of ~$6.7M.
  • The Forbes coverage provides independent confirmation (secondary source) that the transaction was for a 75% stake and reports a $5M price, with Beyond retaining 25%.

If helpful, I can break this out as a new sub-section under “History” (e.g., “2025 majority-stake sale”) to keep the chronology clear. Thanks in advance for any review or improvements.
