Usage
[edit]This template is used to provide references to Jewish commentaries on the Bible located at the alhatorah.org edition of Mikraot Gedolot.
Code format:
{{Alhatorah|Bible book name|chapter:verse|Commentary name}}
- Example
{{Alhatorah|Vayikra|19:2|Rashbam}}yields: Rashbam, Vayikra 19:2
- Shorthand can be used for the Bible book names, such as 1 Sam or Deut. See the Chicago Manual of Style for other acceptable abbreviations.
- Verse references may be simplified (for example, entire chapter).
- Commentary names are spelled as they appear on the Alhatorah website. To obtain Alhatorah's English spelling of a commentary name from the Alhatorah site, click on the current commentary name in Hebrew near the upper left of the page, switch to a different commentary, and check the new URL.
