Usage

This template automatically dates tags with the current month and year upon placement.
Example:
{{subst:dated|Unreferenced}}
Instead of:
{{Unreferenced|date=December 2025}}
Limitation
[edit]Substitution does not work inside <ref>...</ref> tags.
Cleanup templates which are applied inside <ref>...</ref> tags (e.g. {{Dead link}} or {{Bare URL inline}} cannot be applied using {{subst:dated|Foo}}. In such cases the options are to:
- add the date manually
- Leave the cleanup template undated. A bot will be along shortly to add the date.
