Tonya M. Foster (Tonya Monique Foster) (born January 20, 1966), is an American poet, essayist, and scholar from New Orleans. Foster is George and Judy Marcus Endowed Chair, Associate Professor at San Francisco State University,[1] a 2020–2021 Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study Fellow and recipient of a 2020 Creative Capital Award.[2][3]

Previously she taught at California College of the Arts.
