two knobcone pine dwarf mistletoes growing in the Siskiyou Mountains of southern Oregon, an area with remarkable levels of biodiversity and endemism

I am a mathematician studying algebraic geometry and an amateur naturalist interested in North American mistletoes and orchids, among other things. You can find my observations and identifications of organisms on my iNaturalist page, where I use the same username as here; with a little more sleuthing, you can find some of my mathematical work on the arXiv.

I am currently working on improving the Wikipedia coverage of dwarf mistletoes (Arceuthobium). Most of these species are understudied, there is little information available for the casual reader, and reliable images are difficult to come by. If you have any resources that would be helpful for better understanding the natural history of these plants, especially information about associated insects or fungi, please let me know!

I am more than happy to contribute to any articles related to the Flora of Oregon, especially southern Oregon endemics, and to articles related to mistletoes. If you run across an image on my iNaturalist account you would like to use on Wikipedia, please leave me a message requesting that I change the licensing on that image: my photos are not very technically impressive, but I have been lucky enough to observe some obscure species!
