TexasBob85 is a Wikipedia editor and graphic designer who specializes in military insignia with a focus on the US Uniformed Services, specifically US Army shoulder sleeve insignia, rank insignia of all branches, unit histories and other military related topics. I have been working to ensure there is a page dedicated to each US Army unit that had a brigade or higher level unique unit SSI, so that all US Army SSI's can be documented. I have been referencing the US Army Institute of Heraldry as well as the Army Lineage Series and the current .mil websites of units still in service.
I have lived on or near military bases including Ft. Meade, Maryland, Ft. Hood, Texas, Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Kreuzberg Kaserne Zweibrucken Germany, Wiley Barracks Kaserne Neu Ulm Germany and Flak Kaserne, Ludwigsburg Germany.
My father and uncle were in the US Army in Vietnam and Korea. Another uncle was in the US Air Force. And both my grandfathers were in the US Navy, one before World War II and one during. I have a nephew who was in the US Marine Corps. Due to all these influences, I have always been interested in military insignia.
