Hi! I'm Maddie (she/they). My interests include history (women's and queer history in particular), film, aviation, and academic studies of the Bible (shoutout Bart Ehrman). You may also sometimes see me working on American current events. I generally still consider myself primarily a content editor, but lately I have been delving more into the administrative side of Wikipedia. I am a volunteer mentor, a member of the new pages patrol, and participate with votes and closes at WP:AFD. Some stuff about me in real life! Interdisciplinary learning is probably my truest passion in life; in undergrad I double majored mathematics and filmmaking, and now I work in software development. In my free time off-Wiki, I make films, do WP:OR in history, and I'm also learning to fly a Cessna 172M! I've published three papers of original research in mathematics, and my history writing has been featured in newspapers including the Chicago Tribune and Miami Herald. I'm currently working on publishing my first academic work of history. I also have two cats, who I love dearly :3
I often edit from work or home, and I recently learned that my boyfriend occasionally edits via IP/temporary account. At least one edit to PWHL Seattle was made by him via an IP that I often edit from while logged in to this account. I have not edited while logged out (other than this test edit to my sandbox) and do not plan to start, and I have no alternate accounts at this time.
