Do you have any of these sources on Peruvian History?
[edit]I'm working on an article on Peruvian History, and since you've translated many pages on Peruvian history from I'd like to ask if you have any of these sources on that topic:
1) Historia de la República, desde Sánchez Cerro hasta Alan García by Chirinos Enrique Soto (1985)
2) Historia General del Perú, Vol. 12, La República contemporánea by Guerra Margarita (1984)
3) Historia del Perú, República (1822-1968) by Rivera Raul (1974)
If you have any digital copies, could you send them to me? Avocadopiu (talk) 06:29, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, first of all, I very much appreciate your efforts, since I've wanted to create that page myself for a while. Regarding your inquiry, I'm afraid not. I usually work with physical books and visit libraries if I don't own them myself, so I would advise you to do the same if you have the chance. Most of my library is unavailable to me at the moment so I can only work with Jorge Basadre's Historia de la República del Perú—which is available online anyways thanks to the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru—hence why I'm focusing on the Commons at the moment. Let me know if you've any other questions. All the best. AlejandroFC (talk) 19:01, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
- Would you happen to know any sources on the "Tercer Militarismo?" I have heard of a book called El Mariscal Benavides, su vida y obra. Have you heard of it? Avocadopiu (talk) 17:46, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
- I'm afraid not. You could try Jorge Basadre's collection (mentioned above). There is also Sánchez Cerro y su tiempo, a book on Luis Miguel Sánchez Cerro by Carlos Miró Quesada Laos. AlejandroFC (talk) 17:40, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
- If your local libraries were to have them, could you scan them and then send them to me? Avocadopiu (talk) 10:31, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
- I'll keep it in mind, although I've kept busy since last time. The National Library should have them, although specific sections would be more convenient since you're talking about large works. AlejandroFC (talk) 15:04, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- Would you have any knowledge of whether the library is open to scanning requests via email? Avocadopiu (talk) 02:52, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- I've honestly no idea as I've only visited in person. Feel free to contact them, though, since IMO they operate very much efficiently, at least in person. AlejandroFC (talk) 05:51, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
- I've moved the page to mainspace. The section on Oscar Benavides is still incomplete, I have exams coming up, so I might not have the time to finish it, but I thought I may as well publish it since everything else is complete. Avocadopiu (talk) 10:30, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- Brilliant, I'll be busy in no time too lol, so if I make any changes it'll probably be the title to maintain a coherency with those of other pages. AlejandroFC (talk) 03:17, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
An invitation
[edit]User:Avocadopiu/Wikiproject South American history Avocadopiu (talk) 07:01, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, would you be kind enough as to explain this invitation please. AlejandroFC (talk) 21:01, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- A specialist in Peruvian history would be pretty useful in a South American history group. Avocadopiu (talk) 02:33, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
- Of course, I meant if joining the project implied anything in particular, maybe coordination or other things (I am oblivious to many areas of the the meta-part-I-guess-you-could-call-it of this website). I usually edit as I go on my own pace. I wouldn't call myself a specialist either really lol. AlejandroFC (talk) 20:04, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
- Nothing really in particular, it's pretty convenient to get everybody with this semi-shared interest together in one wikiproject. There will probably be collaborations, but the main purpose of creating this was just to bring this small enthusiast community together. Avocadopiu (talk) 04:45, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, sounds good. I'll add my username. AlejandroFC (talk) 17:42, 6 November 2025 (UTC)

The article Pisagua Department has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No significant coverage in independent reliable sources to establish notability. Found mentions of the Pisagua name, but no in-depth content about the Department.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. JoeNMLC (talk) 16:27, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
