circle area

Yes, a square of side r√π has the same area as a circle of radius r; this is trivial enough that I'm surprised not to see it in the article already. —Tamfang (talk) 00:28, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It is in the article, in the sense that the very top figure notes that a circle of radius 1 has the same area as a square of side ${\displaystyle {\sqrt {\pi }}}$, so that squaring the circle is equivalent to constructing ${\displaystyle {\sqrt {\pi }}}$, which is stated explicitly.
