Thank you for the Editor of the Week award (and a small request)

    [edit]

    Hello @Buster7,

I'm fbgpwns5277, who received the Editor of the Week award today.

First of all, I'd like to express my sincere gratitude for the award and for creating the banner.

If it's not too much trouble, may I kindly ask for a small edit to the banner? The "notable work" currently lists South Korea at the 2016 Summer Olympics, which I edited about nine years ago. I feel that it no longer reflects my recent contributions and the reasons for this award. If possible, could you please update it to Category:People of the Imjin War — which I've recently devoted much effort to — or simply remove the notable work section altogether? If that's not feasible, please feel free to disregard this request.

Once again, thank you so much for all your hard work and kindness! Fbgpwns5277 (talk) 04:21, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Clovermoss is missing from the Eddys Hall of Fame

    [edit]

Hi Buster7, I noticed that Clovermoss is listed as EotWeek for December 10, 2023:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Editor_Retention/Editor_of_the_Week

However, her Eddy infobox is not shown in the Hall of Fame : the list of 2023 recipients ends with Novem Linguae, December 7, 2023.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Editor_Retention/Editor_of_the_Week/Hall_of_Fame

Just curious; maybe she wants it that way? but just thought I'd inquire in case it's an oversight. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 03:00, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Thirteen years later...

    [edit]

I was copyediting the Montreal Expos article, and suddenly it popped into my head: I have Tim Raines's autobiography, though I still haven't read it (nearly a decade later :D). But I realized I could try to follow up on our discussion at Talk:Tim Raines § Personal life. Can you believe that our discussion thirteen years ago is still the last non-bot edit to the talk page? All Raines says about the matter is that his marriage ended in 2005, so I put it in the article to bridge that gap in his personal history, even if it's a sad event to recount. isaacl (talk) 01:48, 15 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    AI

    [edit]

From the Pluribus article: Artificial Intelligence promises "smooshing" all human intelligence into one obsequious collective mind". Josh Rosenberg of Esquire interpreted Pluribus as an allegory for humanity's "bizarre acceptance" of artificial intelligence in a story that "for once, we're watching a meaningful story about our connection to AI that isn't solely about choosing whether to fall in love with it or kill it". Gilligan has noted his own disdain for AI, and an anti-AI disclaimer in the end credits of Pluribus states that "this show was made by humans". Happy holidays and a prosperous 2026!

Buster7, thank you for everything you do to keep EOTW humming. It spreads so much happiness and camaraderie across the 'pedia, and certainly helps with editor retention. And making editing fun! It couldn't happen without your hard work, and as a quite recent EOTW recipient, it really means a lot to the people who receive the recognition. Thank you for the holiday wishes, and let me return the favor by saying the best to you and yours in 2026 :)
