- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Neda Matian, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. - Thank you for pointing this out. I now understand that “minor edit” should only be used for very small, non-substantive changes like fixing typos or formatting. I will avoid marking content changes as minor in the future. CalligrapgyExpert (talk) 11:14, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Then why did you remove the COI tag for the 2nd time and mark it as minor. It is not minor, nor should you be removing it. SMasonGarrison 01:25, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing this out. I understand now that categories must only be used when they are directly supported by reliable sources, and I will limit the categories to the relevant ones (e.g. Iranian calligraphers, Women calligraphers). I won’t include broad or container categories again. CalligrapgyExpert (talk) 13:42, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- You are right. I should not have removed the COI tag myself. I understand that such tags should remain until other editors or administrators decide otherwise. I will not remove it again and will instead use the Talk page to request review. Thank you for clarifying this. CalligrapgyExpert (talk) 13:42, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi CalligrapgyExpert! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Neda Matian and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. SMasonGarrison 21:05, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification. I understand now that categories must be clearly supported by reliable sources, and that “minor edit” should only be used for very small non-substantive changes. I will keep this in mind for future edits. CalligrapgyExpert (talk) 05:31, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- The issue with categories was that you were including container categories and categories that aren't used for people. SMasonGarrison 01:23, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
