Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, DarraghFitzgerald. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ProClasher97 ~ Have A Question? 19:59, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello ProClasher97,
Can I ask if these updates can be made? See below.
Reasons why:
- The information on the current page is incorrect.
- Environics reseach group/environics communications doesnt exisit.
- Environics Analyics - https://environicsanalytics.com/en-ca and Envrionics Institute https://www.environicsinstitute.org/ do exist but aren't featured.
- It's missing important information, not marketing ploys, more so founders, important people, type of org etc...
Please let me know if these changes are possible. Reviewing you resources above, I can't see any major infringements. If you'd like us to remove links no problem.
Cheers,
Darragh

@DarraghFitzgerald: This page, which is your user talk page is not the proper place to discuss extensive changes to an article. That would be done at the article talk page, Talk:Environics; I see that you did this initially, but not in a way that attracted anyone's attention. Article talk pages are not routinely monitored, so your first posting was likely never noticed. The most effective way is to use the edit request wizard tool, which will add your request to the list of requested edits which will be reviewed by independent editors.

I can tell you right away that a lot of your content will be rejected outright because it is full of subjective, marketing-type language (e.g. "the premier marketing, information, and analytical services company in Canada, helping thousands of customers", "unique understanding of motivations, attitudes and behaviours which allows them to help clients form solutions", "insight-driven approach to help brands build authentic connections and long-lasting success"). Wikipedia articles are written from a plainly factual and neutral point of view, as if the topic was being described by a disinterested third party. Articles are paraphrased summaries of cited material previously published by reliable sources that are independent of the topic under discussion. We have little interest in what a company wishes to say about itself, or what it considers to be its own history.

Please also use the {{paid}} template on your userpage (User:DarraghFitzgerald) as a more visible means to disclose your affiliation with the company. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:26, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh ok, makes sense! Thanks for the quick response. Ill revise those changes to make it less salsey, more matter of fact and submit to the talk page
