Information icon Hello, I'm QuicoleJR. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Sarah Montague, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I have removed the unsourced content, but the other edits remain intact. Please provide sources for those two paragraphs. Thank you. QuicoleJR (talk) 13:41, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Talk:Vladimir Lenin are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. Buidhe You're mistaken! Please be kind enough to remove your post. Dotsdomain (talk) 03:06, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This prohibition applies to all edits that mention the Arab—Israeli conflict, including talk pages, with an exception for wp:edit requests. (t · c) buidhe 03:12, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're still mistaken, I gave examples of the BBC bias when they erroneously reported matters already in the public domain. I haven't edited anything that belonged to the war. It is about whether the BBC is a reliable source or not, not the ethics of the conflict. Dotsdomain (talk) 03:55, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are allowed to give the examples regarding Trump, but you may not mention anything to do with the Arab–Israeli conflict until you are extended confirmed.

My personal advice would be to edit a more quiet area of the encyclopedia until you have a bit more experience in how to resolve conflicts. I am not exaggerating when I say that the Arab–Israeli conflict is our most controversial topic, and that American politics is another nasty space. It is much more fun to edit about more chill areas :) HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 04:46, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dotsdomain, as your account is not yet extended confirmed, please note that your comments Special:Diff/1320403643 and Special:Diff/1320498688 are prohibited by the extended confirmed restriction (ECR), which applies to edits which overlap with the Arab–Israeli conflict (WP:CT/A-I) contentious topic on all Wikipedia pages, with the exception of making constructive edit requests on article talk pages.

This message is a warning against violating ECR in the Arab–Israeli conflict contentious topic, and has been recorded in the arbitration enforcement log. According to your editing history, you have currently made a total of 225 edits on the English Wikipedia. Dotsdomain, I'd also like to add that your edit to that page was clear editorializing, which contravenes Wikipedia's requirements that articles be neutrally worded. You made the same issue recently at Tommy Robinson. I'd suggest you stay away from articles about current politics and edit something less controversial for a while, to gain more experience.
