Hello, Egezort, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Hello, I'm actually trying to get that page deleted because I saw the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist–Leninist (New Build-Up Organization) page later, which is the same (I couldn't find it at first due to Wikidata stuff, which I fixed later).
So if you could delete it, I would appreciate it! Egezort (talk) 23:10, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Anti-gender movement, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Congregation. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi Egezort. Thank you for your work on Scientific language (linguistic classification). Another editor, Ldm1954, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

This current page is a stub that is a poor version of the extensive page Languages of science. I am going to be bold and just redirect. If you object we can go to AfD.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Ldm1954}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Ldm1954 (talk) 17:12, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Ldm1954:
Hello @Ldm1954, there is actually a conceptual difference between these two. I made edits to demonstrate this difference in the lede. They can be in the same page, that's not necessarily an issue. But they are different subjects. What do you suggest we do? Egezort (talk) 18:50, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is tricky, so let me just give my opinion about the prior page as a practicing academic scientist -- it is not right. For instance the statement "aims to be a mathematical language that guarantees precision" is highly dubious, since mathematicians (at least with whom I have collaborated) tend to waffle (IMHO), e.g. https://arxiv.org/abs/0801.3098. One sentence I will pull from that is:
"This idea, however, seems not to have benefitted from the endorsement of prominent researchers at the time, and hence there is little numerical experience to recommend it."
which was, deliberately, waffle full of innuendo because we later indicate what was missed (in our opinion).
(Note, I am only going to use my papers as examples to not denigrate others.) Often papers are vague and quite imprecise. While I do not do it that much, any modern description of scientific writing should mention selling and spin. Indeed, many high profile journals expect that one to sell the importance, see for instance the introduction to https://doi.org/10.1126/science.1213902.
As another example, the prior article missed the most obvious thing -- title and abstract. As a rosy-cheeked PhD student I was taught that if the title did not catch the reader the paper was dead; this had to be followed by a punchy abstract. Not everyone but many papers follow this approach.
Maybe there is a linguistic description which is an attempt to categorise how scientists write. To me the article Scientific writing is not bad and it where I ended up doing the redirect. One possibility it that you could add something to that for the "linguistic interpretation".
Ping me if you have questions; off to listen to some conference talks. Ldm1954 (talk) 19:59, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ldm1954, Thank you, this makes more sense. I agree that the explanation was a bit too strict and too idealised, in a bad way. I translated the article from Turkish Wikipedia, and it was described even more strict there. I would say that the way the article described scientific language, is a specific subset of scientific language (the dry and precise kind).
I think the way it is currently is good and we can keep it like this. Egezort (talk) 20:06, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ilıpınar Höyüğü'nde 13 yıl boyunca kazı başkanlığı yapan Dr. Jakop Rodenberg'in Bursa 2000 Gazetesi, Yöre Ekinde 31 Mayıs 2000'de yayımlanan yazısıdır.

This is the article by Dr. Jakop Rodenberg, who served as the excavation director at Ilıpınar Höyük (Ilıpınar Mound) for 13 years, published in the Bursa 2000 newspaper, in its Yöre special insert, on May 31, 2000. Egezort (talk) 00:54, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
