Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Texas, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. I did read the source. Maybe you should. It says "'The Lone Star State' comes from the symbolism of the star on the 1836 flag of the republic, the 'National Standard of Texas.' The single golden star on a blue background signified Texas as an independent republic and was a reminder of the state's struggle for independence from Mexico." Now follow WP:BRD.
